Managing Devices

The Devices tab is where you manage your dive computers. You can add multiple devices and switch between them at any time.

Supported Devices

Dive Exporter works with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) dive computers. See Supported Devices for the full list of compatible devices and how to check compatibility in-app.

Scanning for Devices

To scan for nearby dive computers:

  1. Go to the Devices tab
  2. Tap the + button in the top-right corner
  3. Tap Start Scan

The app will scan for BLE dive computers in range. Discovered devices appear in a list showing the device name, vendor, and model. Tap the + button next to a device to add it to your list.

Adding a Device

From the scan results, tap the + button next to the device you want to add. The device will be added to your device list and a haptic confirmation will let you know it was successful.

Devices you’ve already added are marked with a green checkmark instead of the add button.

You can add multiple dive computers — useful if you dive with more than one device.

Viewing a Device

Tap a device in the Devices list to view its details. On a newly added device, the page shows the Device Information, Download Status, Smart Sync status, and a Delete Device button.

Device Information

Before the first download, the app shows basic information available from the Bluetooth connection: name, vendor, model, and last connected date.

Device information before first download

After the first download, additional details such as the serial number and firmware version are pulled from the dive computer, when available.

Download Status

Shows the number of dives downloaded and provides a button to start downloading.

On a new device with no downloads yet, the status shows zero dives and the fingerprint is absent.

Download status on a new device with no dives downloaded

After a partial or incomplete download, the dive count reflects the dives already imported, but the Smart Sync fingerprint remains absent because the first full download has not completed yet.

Download status after a partial download with 9 dives but no fingerprint

After a complete download, the fingerprint is set and Smart Sync is enabled. You’ll see both Download New Dives and Download All Dives buttons, and a link to view the dives for this device.

Smart Sync

Shows whether a dive fingerprint is present for incremental syncing. See Smart Sync for details.

Deleting a Device

To remove a device, open the device detail view and tap Delete Device at the bottom of the page.
